e*thirteen introduced their Gen2 TRS Plus Cassettes with a new 9-50T 12-speed cassette and revised 9-46T 11-speed cassette.
The cassette feature revised architecture, better shifting, and improved configurations. The TRS Plus 9-50T 12-spd has a massive 556% range and weighs in at only 398 grams. The upgraded TRS Plus 9-46T 11-spd has the same 511% range as before, but now uses ten steel cogs and one aluminum, for increased durability and stronger for eBike use.

The cassettes architecture system slips onto an XD Driver and doesn’t need proprietary tools for installation, and features updated shift features that deliver better shifting and long-term durability, and the two-piece design allows for individual replacement of parts as they wear. For the two-piece 9-50T 12-speed cassette, the inner utilizes a two cog 42-50T 7075 Aluminum spider that attaches with a pinch ring, while the outer ten cog 9-36T is heat-treated Chromoly steel spider and snaps into the inner ring with a chain whip. The larger aluminum cogs are made for weight savings, and the smaller steel ones are for durability, and they’re available separately, so when the alloy climbing gears wear out, you don’t need to buy an entire cassette.
The 12-speed 9-50T is compatible with SRAM Eagle drivetrain, retails for $299 and has a 9,11,13,15,17,20, 23, 27, 31, 36, 42, 50 spread. The 9-tooth offers a great gearing when you want to fly at higher speeds on the trail so you won’t run out of gear when cranking down on the pedals out in the flats or doing downhill, and the 50-tooth will provide excellent low-speed grinding up steep hills.
The 11-speed 9-46T retails for $249 and has a 9, 10, 12, 14, 17, 20, 24, 28, 33, 39, 46 spread, and uses 1 aluminum cog and a 10 cog steel spider.
