Yakima EXO OpenRange Kitchen

This Spring, Yakima will launch the EXO OpenRange Camp Kitchen, the brand’s first debut in the outdoor kitchen space. The kitchen set packs into a single box and mounts onto the brand’s signature EXO modular hitch-mounted organization system: Introducing Yakima EXO System.

The new EXO OpenRange cooking system comes in two versions, the base OpenRange ($749) and the fully tricked-out OpenRange Deluxe ($1,199). The OpenRange includes the storage box, a lantern hook, a backboard organizer, and SKS locking latches. The OpenRange Deluxe comes with two sides tables and a stove: the Wood Table with a sink/drain/cutting board ($149), the Metal Table ($149), and the CookOut stove ($149). The OpenRange Deluxe comes with everything except the Leg Kit, while the OpenRange can be purchased with any of the Deluxe’s optional accessories.

The OpenRange system will make cooking at camp more enjoyable with its streamlined and functional design, offering cooking, preparation, and cleanup in one space.

You can get accessory cutting boards, utensils, cups, plates, cookware, etc.

The OpenRange box offers plenty of carrying and organizing gear, plus its fold-down lid offers working space.

When the SwingBase has swung away from the vehicle, the TopShelf with the can then rotates inward so you can access anything attached to it from the back of the vehicle.

The OpenRange Wood Side Table is made from bamboo and offers food prep and cleaning and a useful sink and drain system, along with a nesting cutting board.

The OpenRange Metal Table can have the CookOut 2-burner propane stove with integrated push-button ignition for easy lighting.

EXO System

The main starting and foundation piece is the EXO SwingBase, which will only fit into a 2-inch receiver due to the system’s weight constraints. The SwingBase has two articulating arms that fold out for mounting for any of the accessories, including the GearWarrior basket, BackDeck tabletop, GearLocker cargo box, SnowBank ski carrier, DoubleUp bike carrier, and the new OpenRange. The SwingBase swings away from the vehicle, providing access to the rear without things getting in the way. You can also add the EXO TopShelf to the back of the SwingBase, which will then provide you with the second level of gear storage for the system. The LitKit provides tail lights and a lighted license plate holder since the accessories might cover up your vehicle’s current system.
