Skratch Labs designed their Anytime Energy Bars for athletes as a fuel source for workouts, bike rides, hikes, runs, climbs, etc. The new Raspberries & Lemons and Peanut Butter & Strawberries flavors are delicious and tasty, with an excellent texture and are soothing to the palate. The bars are Non-Gmo, Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Vegan, Kosher, and Soy Free.
Anytime Energy Bars
They kept the bar as simple as possible and utilized whole food and healthy ingredients without sacrificing taste, texture, and palatability. No longer are you stuck with bars that are too dry, too hard, and which are undigestable putty. Compared to many other energy bars on the market they use 50% less sugar and include proper macronutrient profile and components for maximized and efficient energy usage. The bars nutritional profile makes them functional for use anytime one is hungry, needs an energy boost, and to replace energy stores. They’re great for workouts, at work, on the road, and anytime you need something to eat; when real food is delicious!
Both of the new flavors contain plant-based ingredients for easy digestion with a nut and seed butter blend, quinoa, sorghum flakes, brown rice crisps, oats, coconut nectar, and sea salt. Additionally, the Peanut Butter & Strawberries includes roasted peanuts, and dried strawberries, while the Raspberries & Lemons features lemon peel, dried raspberries, macadamia nuts, and dairy-free white chocolate chips.
Impressions
I can’t offer much in-depth factual information on energy replenishment, and recovery, other than the bars filled my hunger pains and kept me going like the energizer bunny. This is more of a taste impression than anything, and obviously, this is my personal opinion.
One of the things I have always enjoyed about Skratch Labs Anytime Energy Bars is their excellent texture and palatability, and digestibility. They’re just easy to eat and chew, an go down with ease and effortlessness, sort of a simple affair that makes eating them enjoyable. These characteristics mean that I’ll be more likely to eat something while out on the trail, and will therefore not bonk and run out of energy during a workout, especially one that lasts for multiple hours.
When I eat their bars, I don’t feel like I’m munching on a piece of stiff putty, a hard brick, a tasteless slab, an overly sugary candy, a dry substance, or a gravelly generic granola bar. They taste and feel like real food while being eaten, with just enough softness, some subtle crunch, an exact wholesome texture, and a great blend of sweetness, tang, and savoriness (flavor dependent).
The awesome Raspberries & Lemons has a superb taste and pleasant texture, with an overwhelming touch of raspberries with a hint and tang of lemons, along with the subtle and crunch from the macadamia nuts and chocolate chips.
The Peanut Butter & Strawberries taste like a light dose of peanut butter and jelly sandwich (sans bread) with a tad of light crunchiness, peanut pieces, and strawberry finish.
My favorite is the Raspberries & Lemons, while my kids love Peanut Butter & Strawberries, though I think both of them are quite tasty and yummy, and I’ll eat either of them without a second thought. These bars are extremely tasty, have excellent texture, are wholesome, replenish your energy and hunger, and are just darn satisfying to eat.
